The incident took place in Bridgeport around 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15 on Kossuth Street.
An investigation into the crash found that a man driving a pickup truck struck the two teens, and then fled the area, said Scott Appleby, director of emergency management for Bridgeport.
EMS provided “lifesaving medical procedures,” to at least one of the victims, according to Appleby.
Both teens were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Appleby said their condition was not known on Thursday, June 16.
The driver of the vehicle turned himself in after police were able to track down the vehicle, Appleby said.
The driver's name has not been released by the police.
Kossuth Street was closed down for several hours following the crash.
The investigation into the crash continues.
